Radio Chinatown

Every family has a story.

Every shop has a memory.

Every street holds moments that deserve to be remembered.

Radio Chinatown is an ongoing community archive led by The Sound Agents, capturing the voices, reflections, observations and memories that have shaped Liverpool's Chinatown across generations.

Some stories are joyful.

Some are forgotten.

Some have never been told before.

We're looking for your story

Whether you grew up in Chinatown, worked there, visited as a child or simply have memories connected to the area, we'd love to hear from you.

No story is too small.

Often the smallest memories become the most valuable record of a community's history.

We're also collecting

Alongside recorded interviews, we're looking for:

• Family photographs
• Home movies
• Audio recordings
• Letters and documents
• Business memorabilia
• Restaurant menus
• Posters and flyers
• Objects connected to Chinatown's history

Every contribution helps preserve another piece of Liverpool's cultural heritage.

Building a living archive

Radio Chinatown is more than a collection of recordings.

It's a growing archive created by the people who know Chinatown best.

Together we're documenting everyday life, celebrations, businesses, friendships and traditions before they disappear from living memory.

These stories will help future generations understand not only what Chinatown looked like, but what it felt like.

Share your memories

If you have a Chinatown story, photographs, memorabilia or moving image that deserves to be preserved, we'd love to hear from you.

Every memory matters.

Help us tell the story of Liverpool's Chinatown, one voice at a time.

Liverpools greatest archive is living memory.
Liverpools greatest archive is living memory.

Photographs fade. Buildings change. Stories survive when someone chooses to tell them.
